SYRACUSE – The Manchester Lady Squires swept the singles matches en route to a 4-1 high school tennis victory at Wawasee Friday evening.
Kelsey Eichenauer was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Kendra Doerr at No. 1 singles, while Halle Briner beat Elizabeth Kleopfer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Lydia Little topped Kennedy Church 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 3 singles match.
The host Lady Warriors scored their lone team point at No. 1 doubles, where Kabrea Rostochak and Brianna Haessig topped Eva Bazzoni and Kendra Auler 6-4, 6-1.
In the No. 2 doubles match, Manchester’s Rebekah Pyle and Anna Osborne were 6-4, 7-5 winners over Kaitlin Graber and Molly Jones.
The Lady Squires won four of the seven JV matches that were contested.
SYRACUSE – Trailing by a run in the sixth inning, the Goshen RedHawks scored three times in the sixth inning to capture a 5-3 high school baseball win at Wawasee Friday night.
The host Warriors scored twice in the bottom of the first to claim an early lead and later scored a run in the sixth.
Reece Fisher and Austin Cain had two hits each for Goshen, while Jairus Boyer had two hits for Wawasee.
Tony Garcia started the game on the mound for the Warriors and was relived by Jacob Garcia, who was charged with the loss after giving up five hits and three runs in 4-1/3 innings.
Joey Peebles pitched all seven innings for Goshen, giving up six hits and three runs while striking out 10 and walking none.

Tigers Halt 6-Game Skid
DUNLAP – Warsaw’s varsity baseball team halted a six-game skid Friday with a 9-4 win at Northern Lakes Conference foe Concord.
Jared Hawley and Brendan Perry had two hits each in the win, and Matt Shoemaker came through with a three-run double late in the game.
Caden Bowers got the start on the mound for the Tigers and threw four ennings en route to the victory. Ian Glogovsky came on in relief.
Warsaw is now 3-8 overall and 1-5 in NLC play.

Golden Eagles Soar Past Squires
NORTH MANCHESTER – The Oak Hill Golden Eagles scored eight runs in the first three innings Friday and soared past the host Manchester Squires 11-0 in five innings in a high school baseball game.
Oak Hill plated three runs in the first inning, five in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the fifth en route the nonconference win.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 11 hits, while giving up just three to the Squires. Kaleb Fluke, Hayes Sturtsman and Mason Meyer had one hit each in the loss.
Fluke was charged with the loss on the mound.

Lady Tigers Fall To NLC Foe Concord
The Warsaw Lady Tiger softball team fell behind early Friday and struggled to rally in a 17-6 loss to Northern Lakes Conference opponent Concord.
Concord belted two home runs and outhit the Lady Tigers 12-6.
Among Warsaw’s hits was a home run by Lindsey Bradley, who was 2 for 2 at the plate.
Alexis Kern got the win in the circle for Concord, while Courtney Chookie was charged with the pitching loss for the Lady Tigers.
Warsaw fell to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in NLC?play.

Lady Warriors Win In Extra Innings
GOSHEN – Wawasee’s varsity softball team beat Northern Lakes Conference rival Goshen 4-3 in nine innings Friday night.
The game was scoreless until Wawasee plated a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning, followed by three Goshen runs in the home half of the inning.
The Lady Warriors scored again in the seventh inning to tie the score, and then plated the game-winning run in the ninth.
Both teams had eight hits and two errors.
Bethany Flannery got the win for Wawasee after pitching 3-2/3 innings, giving up four hits and a walk. She didn’t give up a run and she struck out three Goshen batters.
Kiaundra Olson pitched 5-1/3 innings for the Lady Warriors, giving up four hits, three runs and a pair of walks. She struck out two.
Graceanne Kerlin led Wawasee with three hits, while Faith Swihart had two hits, including a double.
Elkhart – Warsaw’s girls track and field team was the class of the field in the 12-team Princess Relays at Elkhart Central.
The Lady Tigers won four of the 16 events and were second in four others, as they scored 93 team points.
Warsaw was victorious in the shuttle hurdle relay, 4x800, shot put and the 4x100.
The Lady Tigers were runners-up in the discus, high jump, distance medley relay and the 4x400.
Penn finished second as a team with 77 points, followed in the top five by Angola (54), Mishawaka (46) and LaPorte (44).
The Lady Tigers will be in action again today in the Kokomo Relays. They will return to their home track Tuesday to finish up the regular season with Senior Night.
