H. Wayne Roberts, 87, of Elkhart, died Aug. 29, 2009, in Goshen General Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1922, in Warsaw, to Clifford and Laura Plew Roberts. On Jan. 25, 1943, he married Josephine Kapasinski, who survives.
He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Corps. He worked in the meat industry for many years before retiring from Plumrose in 1984. He was a member of American Legion Post 143, Bristol.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary (and spouse Brenda) Roberts, Gauley Bridge, W.Va., and Allen (and spouse Connie) Roberts, Elkhart; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by eight siblings.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
