ROCHESTER - Gregory Alan Lowe, 46, of 5249 N. CR 675E, Rochester, passed away at 3:05 a.m. June 18, 2010, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.
He was born Aug. 30, 1963, in Noblesville, to Richard and Rosalie Greer Lowe. On Sept. 9, 1989, in Roann, he married Rosemary Reed, who survives.
With great pride he graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1982. Growing up on the family farm, he was an active Fulton County 4-H member for 10 years. One of his most memorable moments was in 1982, raising the grand champion barrows. As a junior leader, also in 1982, he was appointed Duke of the Fair. After high school he furthered his education by attending Manchester College. As a handyman, he could fix almost anything. His talents were recognized and appreciated by his family. His favorite book was the Bible. Many evenings he would relax in his favorite chair while reading scripture. Kira, his loyal and devoted canine companion, a Beagle, was always at his side. As an artist, he expressed himself through the medium of stained-glass. He enjoyed the challenges of working with lead while creating beautiful custom pieces for family and friends.
Those who loved and adored him are his treasured friends and colleagues at Zimmer, his faithful church family at Solid Rock Church and the many wonderful friends he made along life's journey to cherish his memory.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rebekah Jean Lowe, Rochester; his mother, Rosalie Lowe; a sister, Julie (and spouse Toby) Norris, Rochester; his mother-in-law, Gloria Reed, Akron; a brother-in-law, Albert Reed, Fulton; a sister-in-law, Tamara Kirk, Akron; and his canine companion, Kira the Beagle. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, who died in 1996, and his father-in-law, Jim Reed, who died in 1991.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Solid Rock Church, 913 Main St., Rochester, with the Rev. Mark Kline officiating.
Calling is two hours prior to the service Saturday at the church.
