Gertrude M. Kohler, 92, died at 12:50 p.m. July 26, 2008, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, where she resided.
She was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Martin and Florence Smitle Gallagher. In 1941, she married Kenneth Robert Kohler, who preceded her in death.
A 25-year Kosciusko County resident, she was a member of Lakeland Conservative Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw, where she was involved with the Women's Missionary Society. She was a member of the board of directors of Lakeland Child Evangelism Ministries. She attended Philadelphia College of Bible for two years.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (and spouse Claire) Kohler, St. Louis, Mo., and John (and spouse Miriam) Kohler, Winona Lake; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, and a memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Village Retirement Community Chapel, Winona Lake, with Chaplain Glenn Byers officiating.
