WINONA LAKE - Geraldine Eleanor Fuller Smith, 86, went to be with her Lord Jan. 23, 2008.

She was born Feb. 15, 1921, to Mabel and Harry Fuller. On May 3, 1940, she married Richard D. Smith, who died in January 1980.

She was a beloved mother and grandmother. Geraldine's great love was the Lord and her quiet ability to pass that love to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Celebration United Methodist Church, Winona Lake, and spent much time gathering her family genealogy.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Kay (and spouse Jon) Dipert, North Palm Beach, Fla.; a son, Richard Alva Smith, Winona Lake; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Smith, West Virginia; two brothers, Bill and Keith Fuller, both of Bluffton; four grandchildren: Nannette (and spouse Scott) Swaidner, Pierceton; Nikola (and spouse Norman) Balzer, Murphy, N.C.; Ryan (and spouse Lindsey) Smith, Columbia City; Lantz (and spouse Melissa) Smith, West Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dale Smith, who died in 2006; her parents, three brothers and a sister.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at Celebration United Methodist Church with Pastor Cindy Gackenheimer officiating.
