Garnet L. Hartwiger

Garnet L. Hartwiger, 86, of 600 N. Colfax St., Warsaw, died at 2:45 a.m. Dec. 6, 2009, in her residence.

She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Johnstown, Pa., to Ernest and Rosella Stark Halliwell. On March 21, 1942, she married Robert Leo Hartwiger, who died June 15, 2004.

Living most of her life in Johnstown and Bethlehem, Pa., she lived in Warsaw for the past five years. She was a homemaker and a member of Johnstown (Pa.) Grace Brethren Church, where she was involved with the Women's Missionary Circle and the Child Evangelism Ministries. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bethlehem, Pa., and attended Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. She was an Avon representative for more than 30 years.

Surviving are a son, Bob (and spouse Aimee) Hartwiger, Warsaw; two daughters, N. Lorene Reese (widow of Glenn Reese), Salix, Pa., and Rosalee (and spouse Rich) Webster, Northampton, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Jeffrey, Gretchen, Shane, Donna, Carol, Brittany and Abbey; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, E. Robert "Sonny" (and spouse Judy) Halliwell, Ravenna, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Jacobe.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, Pa., with Pastor Larry Burd officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown.

Calling is from 4 to 8 pm. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary.
