SYRACUSE – Frances Jean “Jeannie” Hamman, 74, Syracuse, passed away at 11:34 a.m. Dec. 22, 2015, at Center for Hospice House, Elkhart.
She was born Sept. 26, 1941, in Syracuse, to Arnold and Marjorie Maxine Cory Hall. On June 29, 1968, in Syracuse, she married Arliss Deloy Hamman, who preceded her in death June 30, 1981.
She attended Syracuse, Cromwell and Milford public schools and was a lifetime area resident except for three years that she lived in Alabama. She was a homemaker, formerly worked as a babysitter and at the Frog Tavern, Syracuse.
She attended Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle, Kimmel, and formerly attended Zion United Church, Syracuse.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Marie (and spouse Roy) Sweet, North Webster; a son, William Deloy “Billy” (and spouse Hattie) Hamman, Wawaka; a stepson, James “Jim” Hamman, Goshen; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters: Beckyjo (and spouse Frederick) Hewitt, North Webster; Bitsie Ann (and spouse Jim) Murphy, Fremont; Martha Ellen “Marty” Atkins, Mishawaka; Margaret Elizabeth Rockenbaugh, Warsaw; and Mary Burns, Etna Green; and two brothers, Harvey Monroe (and spouse Deb) Hall, North Webster, and Arnold Vern “Pete” Hall, Warsaw. She also was preceded in death by her parents and three infant brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Glen Patrick of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle, Kimmel, and Pastor Purda Hicks of the Full Gospel Revival Center, Rome City, officiating. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
