Floyd Stanley Funk, 90, of Plano, Texas, died of natural causes on Jan. 10, 2008.

He was born July 11, 1917, in Warsaw, to Carl Henry and Mary Jane Conklin Funk. He married Julia Lacy, who preceded him in death. He married Judith Ehman, who survives.

He served his country during World War II as a bomber pilot flying many combat missions over Europe, then returning to Clovis, N.M., as base commander for the duration of the war. He moved to Dallas in 1946, where he was in highway construction and development work.

Also surviving are a sister, Evelyn Alspaugh; a son, Stephen (and spouse Diane) Funk; a daughter, Karen (and spouse Allen) Van Zandt; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four nieces, Jo Anne McElfresh, Sue Anders, Nancy Mason and Debra O'Connell; and two nephews, Stan and Michael Alspaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Barbara Polson.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at The Reformed Church, Plano, Texas.
