Elson R "Sam" Wilson, 76, formerly of North Webster, died May 5, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Upland, to Frank and Alice Bowman Wilson. On June 5, 1955, he married Mary Ellen Bryan, who preceded him in death in 2004.
He was an LPN, as well as a nursing home administrator for the ALFRAN Nursing Home. Later in life, he worked for Choretime, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Mizpah Shrine and was very active in the North Webster Mermaid Feestival for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Victoria (and spouse Todd) Wissinger, Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; a son, Steven (and spouse Carol) Wilson, Bedford, N.H.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia (and spouse John) Russell, Columbia City.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor August Lundquist officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
Calling is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
