NAPPANEE - Dorthula Mae Hershberger, 78, died at 6:27 p.m. Aug. 29, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she resided.

She was born July 8, 1932, in Morristown, Tenn., to Clara and Goldie Heltzel Patterson. On Dec. 23, 1950, in Nappanee, she married Harold Hershberger, who survives.

She was a 1950 Bremen High School graduate and was a waitress at the B&B Restaurant, Nappanee, and Come & Dine, Wakarusa. She attended First Church of God, Nappanee, and Nappanee Missionary Church.

Also surviving are a son, Dennis (and spouse Caryn) Hershberger, Nappanee; four daughters: Brenda (and spouse Sam) Atkins, Goshen; Arlene (and spouse Paul) Seelbach, Chelsea, Mich.; and Karen (and spouse Tony) Carden and Sharon (and spouse Bradley) Haviland, all of Wakarusa; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray (and spouse Pam) Patterson, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Marvin Engbrecht officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
