MENTONE – Doris M. Nellans, 91, Timbercrest Retirement Community of North Manchester, died at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 30, 2013, at her residence. She was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Winamac, to William H. and Grace Hunter Fisher. On June 30, 1940, in Columbia City, she married Wayne C. Nellans, who died Aug. 2, 1976. She was a homemaker and a secretary. She was a graduate of Warsaw High School. Surviving are two sons, Larry W. (and spouse Diana) Nellans, and William K. (and spouse Christine) Nellans, both of Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene (and spouse June) Fisher, North Manchester. She was preceded in death by a son, John Nellans, and a sister, Thelma Leedy. Services will be announced at a later date. A private burial was held at the Mentone Cemetery Monday.
