Doris Annabelle Metz, 86, of 207 E. Van Buren St., Leesburg, died at 2:30 p.m. April 17, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Burket, to Jacob and Myrtle Eaton Weiss. On May 27, 1939, in Columbia City, she married Harry I. "Hosey" Huppert, who died Jan. 17, 1957. On Aug. 20, 1965, in Rochester, she married Forrest "Soulie" Metz, who died Jan. 26, 1992.

Moving to Kosciusko County from Fulton County, she worked at Pike Lumber Co. and the Akron newspaper. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Akron; Leesburg Order of the Eastern Star, Warsaw Chapter 88; and Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She had a zest for life and loved people. "Everyone Loved Annie."

Surviving are a son, Robert Huppert, Grand Rapids, Mich.; a daughter, Beverly Morris, Leesburg; three grandchildren: Ryan (and wife Dawn Heartwell) Huppert; Mrs. Jesse (Dawn Morris) Bradley; and Rebecca Huppert; and four great-grandchildren, Micah and Gabriel Huppert, and Saylor and Lindsey Bradley. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Akron Cemetery with Richard Kehoe officiating.

Calling is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
