Donna J. Prater, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 1:19 p.m. June 9, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. She was born April 28, 1943, in Warsaw, to Bert and Martha Burgess Hyde. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, she worked for Othy Inc., Warsaw, where she retired after serving 25 years with the company. She was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw. She had many activities which she enjoyed doing. She raced go-carts and liked going to Sprint Car Races. She loved Elvis Presley, Mickey Mouse and watching old movies, especially Shirley Temple movies. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games of all types and her retirement. She loved having the wind blow through her hair and the smell of fresh cut grass. She was a loving person and very honest. Surviving are two children, Nancy Prater, Warsaw, and Robie (and spouse Alma) Prater, Barbee area; three grandchildren: Heather (and spouse Graham) Rich Shertz, Gardner, Kan.; Travis Willoughby, Indianapolis; Chase Prater, Bremen; two sisters, JoEllen Hyde Senff, Syracuse, and Esther Hyde Clevenger, Leesburg; a brother, Jerry Hyde, North Webster; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, JoAnn Hyde Rowe; and a brother, Eddie Hyde. Services will be at noon Tuesday in Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, with Pastor Wedstel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
