COLUMBIA CITY – Donald F. Lewis, 99, Columbia City, died at 2:55 p.m. Nov. 17, 2014, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, For Wayne.
He was born April 12, 1915, in Clarence, Ill., to Freeman and Rose Lewis Lewis. On Aug. 3, 1936, he married Edith P. Rollins, who died Dec. 21, 2006.
His formative years were spent in Illinois. He graduated from Paxton High School, Paxton, Ill.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Surviving relatives include five daughters: Donna (and spouse Bill) Achenbach, Fort Wayne; Judy (and spouse Ted) Dobbins, Warsaw; Rita (and spouse Ron) Longenbaugh, Columbia City; Sandra (and spouse Bruce) Allison, Dover, Del.; and Debra (and spouse Todd) Brock, Kennesaw, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Lewis; an infant daughter, Rosemary Lewis; three brothers: Marvin, Frank and Jesse Lewis; and three sisters: Bessie Clark, Grace Clarke and Susie Riggleman.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 709 W. Business 30, Columbia City.
Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the church.
