Deloris C. Thompson, 76, Claypool, passed away at 3:55 a.m. April 2, 2014, at her residence. She was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Fulton County, to Earl D. and June A. Smith Floor. She was married May 13, 1956, in Disco, Ind., to Max Thompson, who survives in Claypool. She spent most of her life living in the Claypool area and was a 1956 graduate of Akron High School. She worked as a machine operator at Manchester Controls for 36 years before retiring in 1999 and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Also surviving are two sons, Max E. (and spouse LaDeana) Thompson, Claypool, and Lonnie Thompson, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Christopher Thompson, Michigan City; a granddaughter, Valerie (and spouse Mitch) Thompson-Mantle, Churubusco; a great-grandson, David Mantle, Churubusco; two sisters, Sharon Floor and Joan (and spouse Jim) Floor, both of Akron; and two brothers, Larry (and spouse Ann) Floor, Akron, and Michael (and spouse Claudette) Floor, Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen French. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Eddie French officiating.
