Colleen Craigen went home to be with her Savior after an almost 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s at 9:07 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2026, at Peabody’s Retirement home in North Manchester at the age of 78.
She was born Dec. 9, 1947, in Vereeniging, South Africa, to Maude Clay and George Kendall. On March 25, 1967, she was married to the love of her life, Trevor P. Craigen. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage when he preceded her in death on April 26, 2019.
Colleen joyfully served the Lord over her lifetime with her husband. After coming to the United States for her husband to study at Grace Seminary, they were missionaries in Europe ministering in over 27 countries during that time. Later they moved to California where she worked in the library at The Master’s Seminary while her husband taught theology. Her genuine care and concern extended from children, college students, seminary students and their families, as well as neighbors and friends. Everywhere she went you could find her teaching children about Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a rich legacy of many who have been impacted by her life.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Clive (Randi) Craigen, Chicago; and Treleen (Jim) Cox, Warsaw. She also leaves behind her beloved seven grandchildren: Claire (Jason Schon), Emma, Zeb and Trinity Craigen, all of Chicago; Trevor (Jessianna) Cox, Rochester; Kendall (Alvaro) Aguillon, Warsaw; and Brennan (Karissa) Cox, Bloomington; as well as four great-grandsons: Theodore Cox, Tairo Craigen, Akaius Aguillon, Finley Cox and another one due February 2027. They all loved her zest for life, infectious laughter and contentment in all circumstances. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Keith Kendall.
A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, Sept. 28 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Warsaw. Colleen’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Pleasant View Bible Church, 2782 W. CR 200N, Warsaw, and officiated by Rev. John French. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth-Byers Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
