Between the Cruisin Hoosiers' annual car show at First Friday and the Family Carnival at Central Park, there will be something for the whole family Friday evening.
First Friday is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. The car show, from 4 to 8 p.m., is the Cruisin Hoosiers' fundraiser for the BYC. There will be silent auction items in front of the cannon on the courthouse square.
Gates for the car show open at 3 p.m. Registration for the car show is from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, with an entry fee of $12. Entry for cars is at the intersection of East Center and Indiana streets. Judging and silent auction is from 4 to 7 p.m., and the awards ceremony is at 8 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 30 pre-1989 cars, the top 20 1990 to present and the top eight motorcycles.

“We will have the usual food vendors in the city hall plaza. We are having a lot of vendors on the courthouse lawn,” downtown event coordinator Paula Bowman said.
Music will be provided by the band 81/89 from 6 to 9 p.m. downtown, with dinner music by David Haney in the corner of the city hall plaza also from 6 to 9 p.m.
“We invite everyone to utilize the alleyway project for dinner and relaxing,” Bowman said. The alley is between city hall and Oak & Alley/Three Crowns Coffee.
The Family Carnival, put on annually by the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department, is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Central Park. It will feature children’s entertainment, games, activities, face painting, a dunk tank and more.
Kids can sign up for Penguin Point’s Big Wheel Race.
Tickets for the carnival are 25 cents each, and punchcards are $5 each. A punchcard is equal up to 20 tickets and will be sold at the West Shelter.
“It’s a great night to come down and bring the kids to the park and dad to see the cars,” said Bowman. “It’s a great family night.”
