NORTH MANCHESTER – Bernice Louise Mindala, 88, of North Manchester, died at 7:10 a.m. May 15, 2012, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

She was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Logansport, to William B. and Hazel M. Glaze Lambert. On Nov. 27, 1948, she married Mike Mindala, who died June 16, 2008.

She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Bruce Kramer’s Dry Cleaning and the former Montgomery Ward Store, North Manchester. She graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, and was a member of Ivy Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star, Women of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary, all in North Manchester.

After her marriage, she lived at Fourth and Buffalo streets, North Manchester, then at Third and Walnut for the next 52 years.

Surviving are a son, Thomas W. (and spouse Jennifer) Mindala, Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Anna M. (and spouse Joe) DuRussel, Reese, Mich.; three brothers: Wayne (and spouse Phyllis) Lambert, Fort Wayne; Raymond (and spouse Margaret) Lambert, North Manchester; Ted (and spouse Becky) Lambert, Disko; a sister, Lenora Norris, Larwill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and six sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman and the Rev. Sue Babovec officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to th service Monday at Peabody Chapel.
