Allison M. Pierce, 83, of 153 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 26, 2009, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake.

She was born July 20, 1925, in Elwood, to John and Nellie Reed Watson. On Aug. 25, 1946, in Hobart, she married James Pierce, who survives.

Formerly of Hobart, she resided at Grace Village Retirement Community for the last year and a half. She was a homemaker and a member of Michigan Avenue United Methodist Church, Hobart, where she was the organist for more than 50 years.

Also surviving are two sons, Lester (and spouse Nanette) Pierce, Warsaw, and John (and spouse Jan) Pierce, Decatur, Ill.; a daughter, Karen (and spouse Ron) Breitsprecher, Fort Collins, Colo.; six grandchildren, Dawn Melvin, Gwen Cronin and Eric, Adam, Mallery and Austin Pierce; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at noon Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Mike Cover officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
