Alberta Denny, 68, of Claypool, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:40 p.m. June 7, 2012, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Warsaw, to Lowell and Inez Miller Pontius. On May 23, 1961, in Virginia, she married Jerry Denny, who survives.
She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, residing in Claypool. She graduated from Claypool High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker and grandmother. She loved to play bingo at the Silver Lake Lion’s Club. She attended Warsaw Community Church, Warsaw.
Also surviving are a daughter, Shanna (and spouse Tony) Baker, Warsaw; a son, Shane Denny (and companion Laurie Bowyer), Akron; two sisters, Connie Allen, Elkhart, and Deanie Allen, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Stacy and Sherise Denny, Shane Denny II, Chelsae Culp and Cassi and Jacob Baker; a great-granddaughter, Ella Cooke; and mini dachshund, Chloe. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and a son, Alan Denny.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
