Former Grace College baseball standout Logan Grigsby has signed an offer to continue his playing career professionally overseas in Germany. Grigsby will be joining the pitching staff for the reigning Baseball-Bundesliga champion Heidenheim Heideköpfe. The Baseball-Bundesliga is the highest level of professional baseball in Germany. Heidenheim is a three-time Baseball-Bundesliga champion, finishing with a 22-6 record in 2017. “I’m extremely excited to have the chance to continue my baseball career in Germany,” Grigsby said. “A lot of time and work have been put in to get where I’m at right now, so it feels good to see it paying off.”

Grace’s men’s basketball team will host a game this week to benefit Fellowship Missions. Thursday’s home game against Great Lakes Christian will raise funds for Fellowship Missions. Fans who bring two canned goods will gain free admission to Thursday night’s game. Proceeds from the remainder of the gate will be donated to Fellowship Missions.

COLUMBIA CITY – A slow start didn’t keep the Warsaw Tigers from the finish they were looking for.
There was plenty of excitement to be had in the first Northern Lakes Conference swim meet of the season for Wawasee and Warsaw Saturday morning.
Seven members of the Triton Trojan football team were named All-Hoosier North Athletic Conference team Monday morning. Head coach Ron Brown said conference coaches asked him if they could include Cameron Scarberry, who died in a car accident Sept. 17, on the squad. “It shows just how much class we have among the coaches in the HNAC,” Brown said. “They didn’t have to do that.”
Triton did most everything right in its boys basketball season opener Wednesday against sectional rival Oregon-Davis. But the Trojans’ frigid shooting enabled the Bobcats to leave town with a 42-31 victory. The Trojans, with just three seniors on their roster, missed all 10 of their shots from the floor in the opening quarter, and were down 9-0 before sophomore Quentin Thornburg sunk a three-pointer with 6:20 to go in the first half. Midway through the second period Triton trailed 15-4. Warsaw transfer Ross Johnson scored the last eight points of the half and got the first bucket of the third quarter to cap a 10-0 run that pulled Triton to within one, but the cold shooting returned and the Bobcats methodically pulled away
