WINONA LAKE – Grace College’s men’s track and field team fought through cold, windy conditions to take top team honors at the second annual Lancer Invitational on Saturday at the Bernard and Linnie Key Track and Field Complex.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced the pairings Sunday evening for the 34th annual softball state tournament. The tournament will start May 21 and feature 379 teams playing at 64 sites.

The last athletes to finish had the best overall night Friday for the Warsaw Tigers, who hosted the 37th annual Max Truex Invitational.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for a new softball stadium on Friday afternoon.

SYRACUSE – The Manchester Lady Squires swept the singles matches en route to a 4-1 high school tennis victory at Wawasee Friday evening. Kelsey Eichenauer was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Kendra Doerr at No. 1 singles, while Halle Briner beat Elizabeth Kleopfer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Lydia Little topped Kennedy Church 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 3 singles match.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College’s baseball team kept its postseason hopes alive with a 10-6 victory Friday over Crossroads League foe Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.

The goal of Warsaw’s girls tennis team, said veteran coach Rick Orban, is to go through the Northern Lakes Conference with a perfect record.

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Whitko Lady Wildcats extended their win streak to eight games Wednesday night, leaving little doubt in doing so with a 10-3 win over Three Rivers Conference rival Manchester.

The Warsaw Tiger baseball team wanted nothing to do with the Bible Wednesday. Senior Cody Bible of Northridge pitched 5-2/3 innings and belted a two-run homer to lead the Raiders to a 15-2 Northern Lakes Conference victory.

MARION, Ind. - A late surge by Indiana Wesleyan allowed the Wildcats to sneak by Grace’s baseball team on Wednesday.

The Warsaw Community High School girls track and field team haven’t lost a Northern Lakes Conference meet in more than a decated, dating back to when first-year coach Megan Davis was  on the team.

SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko Lady Wildcats led just once Tuesday night, but it was when it mattered most.

NAPPANEE – The Warsaw Lady Tiger softball team staged a dramatic comeback on Monday night to defeat Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood 8-3.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College’s softball team dropped a doubleheader at home against Crossroads League opponent Taylor University by the scores 10-3 and 12-2 Monday.
