Two local volleyball teams with records on the opposite ends of the spectrum met at the Hardwood Teepee Tuesday night as Wawasee hosted Manchester. The game went about how one would expect it to go on paper, as the Lady Squires continued what has been a stellar season with a 3-0 win.

With a balanced mix of seasoned leadership and young talent, Grace College’s men’s golf team enters the 2025–26 season with high expectations.

The first major test of the year was passed with flying colors by Grace’s women’s soccer team on Saturday.

This week there seemed to be some consternation about Warsaw boys’ basketball season ticket offering changes resulting in premature consternation.

Coming off of an upset win over Fort Wayne Snider in last week’s season opener, the Warsaw football team looked to make it two for two on Friday night, hosting 6A powerhouse Warren Central at Fisher Field. The Tigers got down big early, but never quit, flirting with a comeback attempt in a 28-14 loss.

Grace College’s women’s golf team is set to tee off the 2025 season and start their national title defense.

Warren Central (0-1) at Warsaw (1-0), Tippecanoe Valley (1-0) at Rochester (1-0), Wawasee (1-0) at West Noble (1-0), Manchester (1-0) at Bluffton (1-0), Whitko (1-0) at Peru (0-1), Bremen (0-1) at Triton (0-1)

There are different approaches to life.

Looking to begin Northern Lakes Conference play on a high note, the Warsaw girls soccer team did exactly that on Tuesday, scoring early and often en route to a wire-to-wire 8-1 win over Plymouth at home. Five different players scored in the victory.

Coming off of two big wins at the Carmel Round Robin over the weekend, the Warsaw volleyball team looked to be continuing to be rounding into form on Monday night. The Lady Tigers looked downright dominant at times during a straight-set, 3-0 victory over Homestead at the Tiger Den.

A week from this morning, big network broadcasts of college football, big time college football particularly, launch with the noon (Eastern Daylight time) kickoff featuring a number one vs. number two showdown: the Texas Longhorns will bring the third generation of football’s Royal Family (Arch Manning) to Ohio Stadium to take on the second-ranked Buckeyes.

Even with no trips to the red zone and just one offensive touchdown scored, Tippecanoe Valley had no problem dispatching Plymouth 20-3 in the season opener Friday night. Valley’s defense came up big all night long for the visitors, totaling four turnovers to keep the Rockies without a touchdown in the two school’s first ever meeting.

In what was an instant classic to begin the season, the Warsaw football team answered the call in their opening night game against Fort Wayne Snider Friday night, winning 38-30 in a game that featured five lead changes and a tie.

The season opener was a smashing success for Grace’s women’s soccer team on Thursday.

Beginning Three Rivers Conference play in the second game of the season against a Peru team that challenged for the conference title last year, the Manchester boys soccer team had a tall task ahead of them on Thursday. It took too long for the Squires to get going, allowing their opponent to capitalize early and often in what was a 5-1 win for the Tigers.

By now, the entirety of Warsaw knows the story: the 2024 Warsaw football team was sitting at 3-3 after a shocking loss to Plymouth before rattling off seven straight wins. Four of those came in the playoffs, sending the team to the state finals for the first time ever. They were defeated by a tough Decatur Central team, but the run to get there was one for the ages, bringing the entire community together and giving them something to cheer for.

On its own merits, Tippecanoe Valley’s 7-4 record during the 2024 football season wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t good enough as far as the guys coming back are concerned.

The first home game of the season for the Warsaw volleyball team was a doozy on Wednesday night, as the Lady Tigers nearly blew a 2-0 lead before defeating Leo 3-2 at the Tiger Den in what was an incredible battle from both teams.

We have officially shoved off from the pier on the excursion that is the 2025-2026 sports year.

Beginning the volleyball season against each other for fourth season in a row, cross-county rivals Tippecanoe Valley and Wawasee met in Akron on Tuesday night to kick start the campaign. The Lady Vikings began the match strong and used that momentum to propel themselves to a 3-1 victory.

Matt Thacker is looking for improvement in his second season as head football coach at Wawasee High School.

Grace’s men’s soccer team has enjoyed a near-unparalleled stretch of success in recent years.

When a sports team is in the throes of a 29-game losing streak, the temptation for a new coach is to tear the program down to the foundation and start over.
