In more ways than one, Saturday night’s JV game between the Warsaw Tigers and visiting Westview Warriors served as a warmup for the varsity contest.

ROCHESTER – The Manchester High School wrestling team picked up a tournament championship Saturday, giving the Squires some momentum heading into the Christmas break.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College’s basketball team will hold a free Lancer Basketball Mini-Camp over Christmas break for elementary-aged students.

BOURBON – Ron Brown resigned from his position as the Triton football coach.

LAPAZ – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team had three players score in double figures, but lost 50-44 Friday in a road game against Class 2A No. 3 LaVille.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester was so close Friday.

SOUTH BEND – The Triton boys basketball team lost 45-41 Thursday at Trinity-at-Greenlawn.

SOUTH WHITLEY – Warsaw’s Trevor Rumple came through when it mattered Wednesday.

BOURBON – The Manchester Lady Squires used defense Wednesday night to overcome their shooting woes.

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Grace College’s women’s basketball team wrapped up its trip west with a hard-fought 79-71 loss at No. 21 Arizona Christian on Wednesday.

Warsaw senior guard Trevor Rumple committed to play basketball at and attend Olivet Nazarene University. 

The Warsaw wrestling team won nine of 12 matches for a resounding 49-24 victory Wednesday over Tippecanoe Valley. 

Some people can’t believe Haley Hoover is a wrestler.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – A dominant performance from Logan Godfrey lifted Grace College’s men’s basketball team to a 75-67 win over Thompson Rivers University on Tuesday.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Grace College’s women’s basketball team was unable to produce a win on Tuesday, falling 83-69 at Embry-Riddle (Ariz.).

Sometimes, when you are in the media, you will find yourself in an impossible position. That position is one that could put your positive position in the community at risk.

The Warsaw boys and girls swim teams dominated the competition Tuesday in a home tri-meet against Columbia City and Oregon-Davis.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – A poor shooting performance spoiled a great defensive game by Grace College’s men’s basketball team Monday against Vanguard University.

I’ve got to give credit where credit is due.

SYRACUSE – Jackson Stover scored 17 points to lead the Wawasee freshman boys basketball team to a 47-30 win Monday over Elkhart Memorial. 

Warsaw’s shots continued to fall Saturday.

CROWN POINT – There are times for a basketball team when shots just don't fall.

SOUTH WHITLEY – Sophie Bussard had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team to a 59-41 win Saturday at Whitko.
