The Warsaw wrestling team won nine of 12 matches for a resounding 49-24 victory Wednesday over Tippecanoe Valley.
Six of the Tigers’ wins were by fall.
The Vikings won the 138-pound match before Warsaw responded with Jacob Bass’ second-period pin at 145 pounds for the 6-3 lead.
Valley responded with a pin at 152, but Brandon Estepp’s pin at 160 put Warsaw up 12-9.
The Vikings would not regain the lead, as Jayton Brock won by fall at 170 to give the Tigers a nine-point lead, and Angel Mendez won a 7-0 decision at 182 to make the score 21-9 in favor of Warsaw.
Valley was disqualified at 195 after being called for stalling five times, and Brock Hueber earned six points for the 27-9 Tiger lead.
The Vikings picked up forfeits at 220 and 106, but Warsaw’s Griffin Reed pulled off a second-period pin at 285.
Valley narrowed the gap to nine points with a win at 113, but the Tigers closed out the match with three straight wins.
Andrew Ross won at 120 pounds on a pin in 52 seconds, while Isaiah Owens won 14-6 by major decision at 126.
The final match of the night ended in a pin by Brock Hogenson at 132.
Dominic Albano was the lone JV winner for Warsaw. He took the match by fall.
The Tigers (12-7) will compete Dec. 28 at the Al Smith Invitational at Mishawaka.
