As the 2019 fall sports seasons run thier course, high school athletes around the nation are getting geared up and ready to go. Football players are donning their pads, soccer players are breaking out their cleats and volleyball players are practicing their serves. At Warsaw Community High School, one of the school’s most successful – yet often overlooked – teams is prepping for the upcoming year. The Warsaw girls rugby team has one of the finest track records in the state, boasting three state championships (2005, 2016, 2019) and two state runner-up finishes (2013, 2014) since the program’s formation in 2003. Several Warsaw alumni have gone on to play on scholarship at the college level as well.

The Warsaw Tigers led 21-13 over Northridge, starting a drive at their own 49-yard line with 5:00 left in the fourth quarter. On the fourth play of the drive Keagan Larsh ran a blazing 34 yards to pay dirt on a counter play, putting the Tigers ahead for what proved to be a 28-13 Northern Lakes Conference win at Fisher Field Friday night.
Despite playing a close game through nearly two quarters Friday night, the Whitko Wildcats football team fell to North Miami at home Friday night 53-22 in a Three Rivers Conference matchup.

The fourth straight victory for Grace’s volleyball team was anything but easy. The Lady Lancers held off a feisty Spring Arbor squad 3-2 on Friday in front of a boisterous crowd at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
Donavan Henderson, Jr. continues to rewrite the Manchester University record books. Henderson, Jr. rushed for 139 yards and set a career-high and new school record with 5 rushing touchdowns as Manchester defeated Defiance College on the road 52-21 Thursday.
