Tigers Wrap Up 7-0 NLC Season

PLYMOUTH – Warsaw wrapped up a perfect 7-0 Northern Lakes Conference boys cross country season with a 17-44 win over Concord and a 20-38 win over host Plymouth Tuesday evening.

Jacob Kissling finished second overall in  16:46, and  Sam Lechlitner was third in 16:57  Other Warsaw results were: 4. Tanner Stiver, 17:01; 5. Fernando Niebbia, 17:01; 8. Austin Fleming, 17:09; 11. Luke Nier, 17:26; 13. Harrison Phipps, 17:47; 14. Sam Slough , 17:47; 23. Marston Norris, 18:24; 25. Nate Knecht 18:34; 25. Ian Denzer, 18:34; 26. Jacob Denzer, 18:35; 27. Next up for the Tigers is the Culver Academies Invitational on Saturday. It’ll be run on the same course as the IHSAA Sectional race Oct. 5.

Valley Tennis Edges Whitko

AKRON – Getting wins at both doubles positions and at No. 1 singles, Tippecanoe Valley earned a 3-2 Three Rivers Conference boys tennis win over visiting Whitko Tuesday night.

After being shutout in the first set, the Vikings’ Payton Mills rallied to win 0-6, 7-6 (7-6) 6-2 over Whitko’s David Ousley.

Valley’s Russell Paxton and Ethan Hartman won 6-4, 7-5 against Whitko’s Kaige Michael and Jackson Hollenbaugh at No. 1 doubles. Cooper Walls and Annakin Pettit took a 6-0, 6-1 decision for Valley over the Wildcats’ Braiden Wolfe and Jonathon Strayer.

Whitko had wins from Aiden Hoffman at No. 2 singles, a 6-4, 6-2 victor over Dylan Neese, and Bryce Turner, a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Owen Kirchenstein at No. 3 singles.

In junior varsity play, Valley’s Evan Harsh and Wyatt Reiter won in singles play, and Mason Purvis and Hunter Craft teamed to win at doubles for the Vikings.

Next up for Whitko is a TRC match with visiting Wabash today. Valley hosts Cass this afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
