Una Gertrude Voorhorst entered peacefully into eternal rest with her Lord, Jesus Christ, at 6:41 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the age of 94. She was a resident of Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw. She was born Oct. 28, 1922, in East Saugatuck, Mich., to Anna Belt and Edward Vanden Berg. Una enjoyed an idyllic but hard-working childhood on her family’s farm, from which she could walk to the local one-room schoolhouse. On March 4, 1948, she was married to Bernard Voorhorst, who preceded her in death in 1995.

ERLANGER, Ky. — Deborah Lee Stimmel Personette, originally from Richmond, passed away April 18, 2017, in Florence, Ky. Debbie was born in Richmond to Wendell and Betty Benge Personette on Aug. 14, 1950. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1968. Soon after she moved to Syracuse and married her life-long best friend, Sam Stimmel. There, she raised two daughters, Tracy Stimmel, Los Angeles, Calif., and Michelle Stimmel, Syracuse. Many years later she returned to Richmond to care for her mother and moved to Florence, Ky., in 2016 to be with her sister, Maryann Spillman.

Marguerite Arlene Buckingham, a resident of Kosciusko County for more than 70 years, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake. She was 104 years old. Marguerite was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Peru, Ind. She was the daughter of Charles and Emma H. Doud Balsbaugh. She was a 1931 graduate of Mexico (Ind.) High School and a 1935 graduate of Manchester College, earning a two-year teaching certificate. After graduating, she taught elementary school in Denver, Ind.

Laura Jo Hill, 86, North Webster, passed away at 2:50 p.m. May 18, 2017, in her residence. On Sept. 7, 1930, she was born in Lewes, Del., to Joseph W. and Anna Laura Frances Badenhoop Muessen. On March 1, 1975, in Severn, Md., she was united in marriage to James S. Hill, who survives. Laura moved to North Webster from Hanover, Md., on March 1, 1975. She had been a professional artist and an art teacher. She was a member of Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church and the Indiana Wildlife Artists, where she was the founder and former president. She is survived by her daughters: Jo Anne Kinnaly, South China, Maine; Betty Jane Zubritsky and Kim Rene Marcadis, both of Syracuse; Ronda Kay Hill, Hammond; and Robin Lynn Snyder, Warsaw; and her sons, James Warren Hill, Willow City, N.D., and William Matthew Hill, North Webster. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Louise Ann Rowles; and brothers, Joseph W. Muessen and Carl S. Muessen. A memorial Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, in St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Corinne Hodges officiating.
