MILFORD — June K. Kinney, 73, Milford, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at Goshen Hospital.
She was born to Kenneth and Opal Nicolai on June 18, 1943, in Syracuse. She graduated from Syracuse High School. In 1987, she married Donald Kinney in Milford.
June worked off and on as a waitress at the 6 & 15 diner since the ’60s. She was a social butterfly and really enjoyed working with people. June loved her two dogs, Susie and Star, and spending time outside on the porch with a view of her roses. She also liked to read and sew.
June was a member of Solomon’s Creek United Methodist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Syracuse.
June is survived by her husband, Don Kinney; a daughter, Dawn Sheets; four stepchildren: Cindy (Doug) Scott, Donald (Chris) Kinney Jr., Kevin (Janet) Kinney and Cathy (Michael) Hawkins; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Gene Nicolai, Donna Borkholder, Stanley Nicolai, Lowell Nicolai and Betty Hostetler.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert Scott Kinney.
A funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford. June will be laid to rest at Solomon’s Creek Cemetery, New Paris.
Friends and family will be received from 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
