PIERCETON — Karey Eugene Burk, 63, Marathon, Fla., passed away at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, in Goshen
On March 7, 1954, Karey was born in Warsaw to Arthur and Marie Gregory Burk. Karey served our country honorably in the U.S. Army as a private first class from 1971-1973.
He was a resident of Marathon for the last 21 years. Previously he was employed by Lawn Rangers, Warsaw, in chemical applications.
Karey was a member of American Legion Post 154, Marathon; life member of VFW, Marathon; and former member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw, and American Legion Post 258, Pierceton. He had a love of the ocean and was an avid fisherman. In Marathon, he organized food
drives for the needy and was active in fundraising for the Wounded Warriors.
He is survived by three sisters: Julie (and spouse Tim) Reams, Goshen; Judy (and spouse Don) Prater, Claypool; and Elizabeth Gregory, Claypool; and his brother, Gary Gregory, Claypool.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 9, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with full military honors by American Legion Post 258, Pierceton, and the Military Funeral Honor Guard.
