Cora “Susie” Mae Baker, Silver Lake, passed away peacefully in her residence at 12:26 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the age of 98. She was born April 20, 1919, in Warsaw, to Ernest Bert Marvel and Minnie Opal Wolfe Marvel. She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw, where she was a 1937 graduate of Warsaw High School. She was a longtime member of Kosciusko County Saddle Club and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God.

Donald G. Hatfield, known by most simply as “Don” or “Junior,” passed away in the early hours of Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, in Fort Wayne’s Lutheran Hospital. He was 71 years old. Don was born to Donald A. and Leota Faye Pratt Hatfield in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School.

Andrew Lee Wyckoff, 84, Warsaw, passed away at 6 a.m. Feb. 9, 2018, in his residence. He was born Jan. 31, 1934, to Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Hemmeger Wyckoff in Kokomo. On Nov. 18, 1993, he was united in marriage to Connie J. Christian in Warsaw.

Lauren M. Warren, 26, New Paris, died at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, after a four-month battle with mesothelioma. She was born Jan. 20, 1992, in South Bend, to Michael and Cindie Eckhart Weldy.

Daniel Charles Runyan, 45, Portage, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Franciscan Alliance Dyer Hospital. Daniel was born Sept. 21, 1972, in Indianapolis, where he lived until eighth grade, when his family moved to Warsaw. Daniel earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, where he was a member of the Delta Theta Sigma fraternity. After graduation, he worked as an environmental engineer for GE Environmental Co.

Connie J. Klein, 73, Gilead, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. She was born May 21, 1944, in Rochester, to Glen A. and Alice Gail Wright Teel. On Nov. 24, 1963, in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church of rural Akron, she was married to Jerry Klein. He survives.

Joyce Clark, 86, Delphi, formerly of Albion, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Health Care, Delphi. She was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Rochester, to the late Robert and Edna Reese Timbers. On Aug. 17, 1951, in Warsaw, she married Richard Clark, who preceded her in death.

Lloyd H. Stutzman, 82, Nappanee, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. He was born Dec. 22, 1935, in Kosciusko County, to Harvey D. and Rosa Slabaugh Stutzman. On Nov. 22, 1956, he married Frieda Schmucker in Elkhart County. She survives.

Charlene Mae Junkin Hoffman, 79, Akron, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at her residence. She was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Hammond, to Elmer Carl and Dorothy Mae Mears Junkin. She married Paul Hoffman on June 5, 1992, in Albany, N.Y. He survives.

Dawn Grubbs, 41, Akron, died Feb. 10, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Gloria Verteramo, 86, Warsaw, formerly of Texas and Massachusetts, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Bethlehem Woods Nursing Center, Fort Wayne.

Larry Carey, 89, Warsaw, died at 6:33 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, in his residence.

Joyce Ann Addair Bostic passed away Feb. 8, 2018, at 68 years old. She was born Aug. 25, 1949, to Cecil and Connie Christian Addair in Iaeger, W.Va. She graduated from Iaeger High School in 1967. On Aug. 22, 1970, she married Terry Wayne Bostic. They celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Vivian A. “Viv” Simmons, 92, North Manchester, died at 6:35 p.m. Feb. 8, 2018, in Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester. He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Bedford, to Raymond S. and Rose Wagoner Simmons. He was married to Neva J. Owens on March 16, 1947. She died Aug. 26, 2000.

Larry L. Penrod, 78, Millersburg, died at 12:24 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Orchard Pointe, Kendallville, after a long illness. He was born July 1, 1939, in Mishawaka, to Noel and Ireta Brenneman Penrod. On Aug. 13, 1960, he married Monta Lou Johnson in Mishawaka. She survives.

James C. Munson was called home by his Savior from his rural Warsaw home on Feb. 6, 2018. He was 74 years old. James was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Warsaw, to Charles A. and Mable L. Holderman Munson. He spent his life in the local area and had attended the former Jefferson High School.

Ina V. Neal, 76, Warsaw, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born May 1, 1941, to Jess and Martha Davis Creekmore in Pine Knot, Ky.

Joyce Bostic, 68, Warsaw, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, in Parkview Hospice Care, Fort Wayne.

“Gracious hostess,” “creative teacher,” “enthusiastic traveler and Florida snowbird,” “avid collector of antique dolls,” “life-long Hoosier,” “classy lady and loyal friend,” “so much fun.” The flame from this petite woman with the out-sized personality will endure among those who loved her long after her death. She died Feb. 5, 2018, in Bloomington.

Thelma Jean Rudd, 85, Rochester, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Hickory Creek at Rochester after a battle with Alzheimer's. She was born May 9, 1932, in Silver Lake, to Ossie and Dora Craft Howard. She married James G. Rudd in Silver Lake on May 8, 1949.  He died June 18, 2014.

Frank Robert Sivicek, 91, Leesburg, passed away at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Courtyard Health Care, Goshen. He was born Aug. 11, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to Andrew John and Anna Mary Galcik Sivicek.

Jack Bernell Cummins Sr., 78, Bourbon, died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at home. He was born Nov. 22, 1939, in LaPorte, to Harry and Sylvia Brannan Cummins. He married Sarah Luvenia Johnson on Sept. 19, 1959, in Plymouth. She died Nov. 23, 2002. He married Gloria Thompson on Oct. 23, 2004, in Inwood. She died Aug. 27, 2014.
