- Dog Ordinance - Debate Challenge - Responds To Wallace - Prosecutor's Race - Kolbe Responds Dog Ordinance Editor, Times-Union: There comes a time when you just have to speak up.Mr.Ott, you wrote a lot of untruths and you twisted the facts about my husband's desire for peace and quiet and the same for all county residents that can't speak up for reasons of their own.

Editor, Times-Union:Ted, Ted, Ted. Where do I begin?

Editor, Times-Union:The following is the second part of my explanation for section 3 of my proposed constitutional amendment for furthering strengthening religious liberty, the free market of religious choice and maintaining the independence of the institutions of church and state from each other both here and abroad.

Editor, Times-Union:A plan has been proposed to dam White River near Anderson.

Editor, Times-Union:Let’s be honest about the consequences of Indiana Senate Bill 100, which would add sexual orientation and gender identity to Indiana’s civil rights law.

- Dangerous Deer - Tree Dangerous Deer Editor, Times-Union: What is North America's most dangerous animal? In this day and age it is not grizzly bears, mountain lions, coyotes or any other commonly referred to as dangerous animal.Bears (grizzly and black) accounted for only 128 deaths in the entire 19th century and mountain lions for only 14 in that same period of time. No, there is another creature roaming Indiana's farmland and beginning to creep into our urban areas. The most dangerous animal, statistically speaking, is the whitetail deer. The whitetail deer accounts for more than 150 deaths on our roads each year, 750,000 car accidents, thousands of injuries and billions of dollars in insurance claims.Deer also account for more than $1 billion in economic farm land damage.

Editor, Times-Union:Good for you, Janet. You did finally give voice to your opinion and I agree.

Editor, Times-Union:There is one ruling bloodline that exists on this earth.

Editor, Times-Union:Enclosed are statistics in reference to the Town of North Manchester that I feel the residents of the community should know.

Editor, Times-Union:Concerning Hospice: I was saddened to learn of Hospice removal from our community.

The United Way has been a cornerstone of Kosciusko County since 1958, but the mission of this organization is still unknown to many in our community. What does the United Way do?

Editor, Times-Union:Since Dec. 8, 2006, I have been in the process of purchasing a computer advertized on Channel 25 and our local The Paper.

Editor, Times-Union:A man once told me a story about his family cat named Gypsy.

Editor, Times-Union:When leaving the new YMCA and turning east (left) on North Point Drive, you travel eastward until you get to the CR 100 East intersection across from Jefferson School.

Editor, Times-Union:This informative note is for parents of incoming kindergarteners for the 2012/2013 school year!  Half-day kindergarten is still an option with Warsaw Community schools for the next school year.  No decision has been made about what school will host the class next year, but the three schools being considered are Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln.

In case some people have forgotten, February is Black History Month. It is a month when Americans should look back on the vast number of contributions the black community has made to the United States. And let me say the contributions outweigh the space I have in this column. When some people think of contributions by the black community, the usual names that come to mind are Jesse Owens, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Jesse Jackson and Colin Powell. Those men and women gave America much more than I can give them credit for. However, there is a plethora of African-Americans history hasn't yet given credit to for their contributions.I want to take a little space here and salute them.Of course, there are so many more than space allows and the biographies I give here are simple, so I encourage everyone to go out and learn more.

Editor, Times-Union:The recent Supreme Court decision on gay marriage reminds me of Kathleen Parker’s recent column (6-9-15) in the Times-Union on Bruce Jenner (Now a “T” in the LGBT community.)

- Look At The Facts - Silver Lake School - Honor Our Veterans - Candidate Speaks - Common Ground Look At The Facts Editor, Times-Union: Before people just blindly follow Al Gore, one should look at the facts. Please remember that before the Republicans took control of both houses that the Contract with America was called a risky scheme and would never work. Before the Republicans took over both houses Mr.Clinton and Mr.Gore passed the largest tax increase during peace time.Mr.Clinton's and Mr.Gore's administration is one of the most investigated administrations that I can remember.

Editor, Times-Union:Josh Bartman's letter to you about what a very good president Sen. Obama of Illinois would make made me very happy.

I've never considered myself a member of any political party. I'm not a Republican.I'm not a Democrat.I'm not a member of the Libertarian, Green or Communist parties. I prefer to think of myself as independent. Yes, I admit I have certain political leanings, but that doesn't make me a member of any party. I like to think for myself. To stay away from conformity as much as I can. Unfortunately, in Indiana for the primary election, I'm forced to declare a party.Somehow, I still think being forced to declare a party to vote is unconstitutional. Yet it seems the powers that be like it that way.I've never understood that - having to choose a party instead of the best person for the job.Whatever happened to thinking for yourself? George Washington, our country's first president, was against political parties. He said it would divide people. That advice went unheeded, but good advice usually does.

Editor, Times-Union:The Dems and the GOP are always going to argue, continue to jocky their ideas are the best.

Editor, Times-Union:I have listened to a lot of conservatives on “talk radio” in the last few years. One of them, Glenn Beck, gave a list of “12 Values” and “9 Principles” and these make a lot of sense.
