Editor, Times-Union:I had to laugh watching a nightly news station on July 4. Barack Obama witnessed the swearing in of 25 people to citizenship, while he lets over 12 million illegal Mexicans run free here taking American jobs and taking advantage of our health care and other public programs paid for by American citizens.

- Lost Property - Big Bang - Tired Of Tax Saga Lost Property Editor, Times-Union: Response to "Lost Property," Marc L.Powell. Marc, you suggested my brother blame his family and friends for his loss of property, but you also suggest he not blame the Treasurer's Office because they are "elected officials bound to uphold the laws mandated to each individual office."So let's look at the facts in this case: 1.Tom & Eleanor Huffman owned (debt free) property 62 + or - acres just east of Etna Green. 2.Tom & Eleanor did have an agent who lived in Tennessee, and paid the property taxes annually for them while they were missionaries in Australia.

- Apology - Unnatural Acts - Loss Of Benefits - Zach Randolph - Gas Prices Apology Editor, Times-Union: Thursday 10, of this month, a very positive freshman orientation took place at the high school.I comment that it was very positive because for the first time, the student body had the opportunity to provide representatives to speak with the eighth-graders.I was one of those representatives. During that orientation, words left my mouth that were not appropriate for any situation, and especially detrimental to the aforementioned occasion.A very small comfort is that they were not directed toward the students.

- Colorado Aftermath - Colorado Tragedy - Colorado Horror - Mushroom Hunting - Athletic Code Colorado Aftermath Editor, Times-Union: In the wake of the shootings in Colorado come cries from all levels of government that something be done to stop the violence.Probably the most disturbing aspects of these attacks is they're coming so unexpectedly. As Saturday's editorial reminded us, we shouldn't be so surprised.Graphic violence and pornography have become protected forms of speech. The sanctity of human life has been implicitly, if not explicitly, denied by the entertainment industry, our universities and our courts. However, before we look too far for the causes of this great tragedy, we should look a littler closer to home.

- Pro-Life Bias - No Colts Pro-Life Bias Editor, Times-Union: On Wednesday, August 18, I retrieved my copy of the Times-Union from my mail box and began to peruse the headlines on the front page. One caption in particular caught my eye: something seemed odd; out of sorts. The caption for the article read: "Pro-Life Music Festival Saturday At Fairgrounds."To the right of the article was a logo, something you might see on a banner or poster.I thought, surely this is an advertisement.Since advertisements appearing in news article format are usually marked as such, I began to look for the advertising proclamation.None was found and I proceeded to read the piece.
