Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union: According to Treasury Department data, the Trump administration has already spent $155 billion more than former President Joe Biden did over the same period of time after their inaugurations.

Editor, Times-Union: Just because you don't like the facts doesn't mean the facts are wrong. The problem is that Democrats create "facts" based on lies and condemn people for not believing their facts. Take the COVID pandemic which should have never been allowed to become a pandemic if zinc and other antiviral substances had been prescribed early on. I still take "the immunity cocktail" today because it protected me from the virus. But if you believed the virus had come from a lab you were condemned by mainly Democrats who have the nasty habit of believing lies. Lives were destroyed because of the insanity of believing the lies associated with the virus.

Editor, Times-Union: A frequent bloviator of nonsensical political blather recently wrote to the Times-Union editor that I “wondered why we are called Americans in this country.”

Editor, Times-Union: I want to sincerely thank the residents of Kosciusko County for the support you’ve shown both me and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office over the past four years during my first term as sheriff.

Editor, Times-Union: Someone wrote that she wondered why we are called Americans in this country. What does she want us to be called; United Statesians? I'm proud to be known by most people in the world as an American since this is the United States of AMERICA. I can see why people hate Donald Trump. He is doing what Democrats said needed to be done years ago and they don't like the fact that he is doing it without their permission. They want to use the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. In order to do that, Trump would have to admit that he is incapable of doing his job and Congress has nothing to do with it. Either that or his Cabinet would have to use the amendment which Kamala Harris could have done if the Cabinet had backed her move to remove Biden from the presidency. She could have been the first female President. But the Democrats didn't want to admit Biden was incapable of being president any more.

Editor, Times-Union: “Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.” - Charles Spurgeon

Editor, Times-Union: News release: Rudy Yakym authored bill passed out of committee.

Editor, Times-Union: Dear Kosciusko County neighbors, Indiana’s County Commissioners are the stewards of both legislative and executive powers of county government. They are the custodians of Home Rule, which gives them broad authority to protect their citizens.

Editor, Times-Union: Did you know many in Winona Lake do not know the entire town can vote for any of the council candidates, contested or not contested. Winona Lake citizens, please vote in the primary, regardless of your choice. It is your right!

Editor, Times-Union: My husband, Jerold “Jerry” Nelson is running for Winona Lake Councilman, Ward 3. Jerry is known for attending almost every single meeting and asking questions and providing a different perspective. But there is a big difference between asking challenging questions from the audience and working on and through matters with the council before items of great importance are presented.

Editor, Times-Union: As the May 5th Primary Election approaches, I respectfully ask the residents of Kosciusko County to consider voting for me, Donald Wiesehan, for County Commissioner.

Editor, Times-Union: In Donald Trump’s own words:

Editor, Times-Union: Things I don’t understand: why schools and businesses use male toilet seats and households and hardware stores sells only female toilet seats.

Editor, Times-Union: Fellow Citizens, As residents of Kosciusko County, we have long valued property rights, limited government, and fiscal responsibility. Values our elected officials claim to uphold. The recent use of eminent domain to acquire private property for a speculative parking garage exemplifies government overreach. At a recent commissioner meeting, Bob Conley himself admitted they don’t even know “if” they’re going to build this.

Editor, Times-Union: Contrary to some people’s opinion, being a commissioner is much more than going to commissioner meetings and voting. To do the job justice, a commissioner prepares before each meeting. A commissioner also listens to what the citizens want. Each commissioner sits on several other boards. Each of those boards requires preparation before each of their meetings. Not everyone is in a position to put in that amount of work. Many of these meetings take place during business hours. Not everyone’s day job allows them to go to numerous meetings during the day. Because Bob Conley has a proven record of putting in the work of being a commissioner and working on the other associated boards, Bob should be re-elected.

Editor, Times-Union: For those of you that do not know me, I am very outspoken and oppose data centers. I started the Facebook group "No Data Centers, Fulton County." I've been strongly fighting against them here in Fulton County for over four months now, and I endorse Don Wiesehan for county commissioner of Kosciusko County.

Editor, Times-Union: We have heard it said that April showers bring May flowers! We are so thankful they didn’t dampen the hearts of the wonderful people of our community. They were waiting in line a half hour before the doors were to open, to enjoy delicious food, fellowship with friends and neighbors and above all help us provide food for the Salvation Army Food Pantry for those less fortunate in Kosciusko County.

Editor, Times-Union: Not since the Civil War has one party gone to such great lengths to oppose the desires of the majority of the country as the Democrats are doing today. They stand in opposition to 80% of Americans on issues like illegal immigration, banning men from women’s sports, the removal of criminal illegal immigrants, and just recently the Democrats opposition to the “Save Act,” which is federal legislation requiring all voters to show proof of citizenship to register to vote and to present a photo ID when they vote.

Editor, Times-Union: Greetings: It is with great pleasure that I write to you today with renewed vigor and faith filled optimism with this request for your continued support, and vote on Tuesday, May 5th. The voting polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. However, early in person voting is available now.

Editor, Times-Union: A simple yard sign … asking people to peacefully pray for an end to the modern American holocaust, where 63 to 65 million American babies have been killed since the infamous, unconstitutional Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973 …

Editor, Times-Union: As both an educator and a member of this community, I see every day how local leadership decisions directly affect the lives of our students and families. That is why I am writing to express my support for Donald Wiesehan Jr. for Southern District Commissioner.

Editor, Times-Union: If you have not downloaded and read the rules, etc. with respect to the college Transfer Portal you should take the time now. Do it before another season of your favorite sport passes.

Editor, Times-Union: I have voted for many Republicans, and we all know that only Congress can declare war, but this congress has unlawfully handed that power to a president who threatens to wipe out the entire Iranian civilization.

Editor, Times-Union: I am writing to show my full support for Don Wiesehan in his bid for County Commissioner. I’ve known Don for years — first as my football and track coach and later working with him at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. Over that time, I’ve come to know him not just as a coach or supervisor, but as a trusted friend.

Editor, Times-Union: I am writing to offer my strong and enthusiastic support for Bob Conley as County Commissioner. I have known Bob since 1995, and over the many years of friendship and community involvement, I have consistently known him to be a man of honesty, fairness, and deep commitment to serving others.
