Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union: As of July 1, 2011, the state of Indiana further cut reimbursements to doctors of optometry (eye doctors) on exams and glasses for services provided to patients enrolled in Medicaid (Hoosier Healthwise, Mdwise, etc). This does not only include vision exams but also medical and problem focused eye exams.  This is the second reduction to eye care in as many years and is an unequal cut not given to other medical provider types.

Editor, Times-Union:In a meeting at my church not long ago, I heard a man from our conference talk about the needs of those in Africa for the problems they are having in that part of the world.

Indiana’s private practitioners, family doctors among them, need your help — a Code Red, if you will.

The day I was told I had breast cancer I thought my life was over.I thought I'd never see my children grow, or my grandchildren. Dr.Cross and his staff made me realize that not all cancer patients die.And when caught in time survival is great.

- Great Teacher - Awards Program - No Presley Coin - Tootsie Roll Drive Success - War Memories - Kidnapped Missionaries Great Teacher Editor, Times-Union: We also agree with the letter (June 5) about the Warsaw School system losing a very special teacher. We were honored that both of our daughters had Charles Hunter as a sixth grade teacher at Lincoln School. He was a tough teacher, but that only makes students at that hard age better prepared students for middle school. We as parents thank you for your loving and caring spirit, but most of all, your Christian testimony. We are proud to call you our friend.

Editor, Times-Union:Today, Monday,  7/9/2012, I am celebrating my “spiritual birthday” that took place exactly 73 years ago.

- Liberal Disillusionment - Some Gave All Liberal Disillusionment Editor, Times-Union: I want to thank you for printing the letter from M.Tapp in the Monday paper. It amazes me that there are people who are so eager and willing to believe any shred of information that happens to pop up in front of them on a computer screen. It simply shows that left-wing disillusionment, absolute ignorance and lack of common sense are still alive and well.

- Say What Needs To Be Said - Webster Post Office - Abortion - Veterans Day Say What Needs To Be Said Editor, Times-Union: The last several weeks have been a real eye opener for me - how people think and what makes them do the things they do.Trust me I don't have the answers for all the world's problems but God does! When we question the wisdom of God, when we put our trust in our own feelings and not in his written word, we are in for a big surprise. I learned a long time ago you eat words that our not according to God's plan and it scares me when I hear people say things that someday I know they'll have to weigh and live through.
