- Special Olympics - May 9 Accident Special Olympics Editor, Times-Union: Saturday, May 11th the 27 Kosciusko County track and field participants, two Bocce teams (one unified) and the 3 on 3 Basketball team traveled to Notre Dame to compete in the Special Olympics Area 2 Summer Games. The track and field athletes came home with an outstanding collection of medals and ribbons.When the final tally was taken, there were 12 gold medals, nine silvers, 11 bronze, five fourth-place ribbons, two fifth-place ribbons and three sixth-place ribbons.In addition, the Unified Bocce team earned a gold medal and the other Bocce team earned a bronze medal.The basketball team battled their way to a fourth-place ribbon.
