Editor, Times-Union:Someone handed me the following article. I found it interesting, so decided to share it with you. It is as follows:
Editor, Times-Union:I normally don’t check back to see if anyone reads letters online and leaves comments, but I happened to check because someone so happened to leave a comment that made me chuckle.
- Bring Back The Draft - Gun Ban Bring Back The Draft Editor, Times-Union: I would like and answer to this question - Just what is wrong with reinstating the draft? Right now our armed services are made up of weekend warriors (which I have no problem with by the way), kids who have gotten in trouble with the law and were given the choice of the armed services or jail.Guys and gals who can't find jobs or want the schooling which is given in the service (but are not in the service to be in combat) - and a few good men and women who are in the service to serve their country.
Editor, Times-Union:I am (sort of) glad to see that Mr. Metzger has returned from his sabbatical. It (really) saddens me that he still has not learned anything. He bemoans about the Koch Brothers’ and how they’ve hijacked the “Republicans.” If Mr. Metzger truly despised the “two-party” system, he would have spent some time talking about how the wealthy have hijacked the “Democrats.”
The removal of trash, recyclables, and yard waste are essential services that our city provides to our residents.
Editor, Times-Union:The following is the second half of my letter on the right of self-defense that was printed in the Nov. 14 edition of the Times-Union.
Editor, Times-Union:On March 9, 2011, while serving in the Wisconsin Senate, I received the following e-mail: “ … I as well as many others know where you and your family live … We have all planned to assault (sic) you by arriving at your house and putting a nice little bullet in your head ...”
Editor, Times-Union:Don Kaiser's letter gave us a glimpse of Warsaw in the '30s and '40s.
Editor, Times-Union: “Homeless Man Busted for Meth,” you know we all really don’t know how people get messed up on any drug, or alcohol, whether it be pot, pills, beer or hard liquor, or anything that alters the way we think and act. Everyone has their own story as to why they fell short of the best they could be. And I’m sure they all have a reason or excuse for what happened.
Editor, Times-Union:Re: Matt PerryEven if Mr Bradley was buying into what he is being spoonfed, we are all guilty, including you.
Editor, Times-Union:Both the House and the Senate have passed their different versions of the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act, which now must be resolved by joint committee.
Editor, Times-Union:Dear friends of music throughout our community.
Editor, Times-Union:Hidden Lake is located at the southwest corner of U.S. 30 and Ind. 15. This is the home of Kosciusko County’s very own Lake City Show Ski Team, who welcome you to find them!
Editor, Times-Union:Why is it everyone around here believes we have a meth problem when we actually have a problem with getting involved in everyone's business?
Editor, Times-Union:Harold:Strength through peace: Vote Dennis Kucinich for president.Matt PerrySan Diego, Calif.Formerly of Warsaw
- Vroman Murder - Primary Choices - Fishing Is Murder - Missing Signs - Thanks To Waggoner Vroman Murder Editor, Times-Union: I totally agree with Gary Gerard's column this past Saturday. The outrageous column in the Times-Union April 16 2002 titled Jason's Innocense is completely an outrage. The way I see it, the murder that was committed was a cowardly act! How can Jason or his lawyer Michael Miner sleep at knowing the facts. The person that did it walked free as a bird but what about Kathy Vroman & her family she will never walk again except for the eyes of the Lord. The Vroman family suffered needlessly.
Editor, Times-Union:Arguing God: I read your letter and you make your point clear.
Editor, Times-Union:Dr. Ron Paul will be on the Republican ticket when you go to the polls on Tuesday to cast your vote.
- Time Zones - Center Of Hope - Respect For Property - Questions Central Time - 'Singing In The Rain' - Questions Sentence Time Zones Editor, Times-Union: As we proceed to observing daylight savings time in 2006, consideration is being given to whether north central Indiana should observe Central time, as opposed to Eastern time.Although this may seem trivial, we should carefully consider the ramifications of such a decision.
Editor, Times-Union:While I'm not certain that this is the appropriate avenue for these submissions, I feel that the existing letters to the editor are not addressing a few critical issues; issues that are proving to be pervasive throughout all levels of government.
- Triathlon - Mowing Ditches - 'Under God' Triathlon Editor, Times-Union: It is once again time for the Warsaw Optimists' Triathlon, and I would like to remind everyone who travels Pierceton Road from Winona Lake to Pierceton that Saturday morning, it will be heavily traveled by many bicycles. The last count I saw for registered triathletes for this event listed over 460 entries. We could very easily have 500 cyclists racing on that road Saturday morning. Many of us train year-round for this triathlon and all we ask is that, on this one day, from 8 a.m.until about 11 a.m., you avoid driving on Pierceton Road. With that many bicycles, traveling in both directions, it is dangerous enough even without cars.So please, if you can, make it safer for all of us and use another route that morning.
Editor, Times-Union:Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Indiana House voted on HJR3, the Marriage Protection Act.
Editor, Times-Union:This is the second letter of my series of letters dealing with the subject of fascism and communism in the 20th century.
Editor, Times-Union:My name is Darren Heinzman and I am a drug addict. Since I was 15 years old I have been a daily drug user. For many years it never strayed outside of marijuana/alcohol and occasionally hallucinogens. And for almost a decade that trend continued. And even though I was never caught, I wasn’t a positive pro-social part of society.
- Nursing Homes - Irresponsibility - Weather Photo - Missed Nursing Homes Editor, Times-Union: Some of you may have read about or heard recent news stories about nursing homes that give poor care or abuse their residents. This is horrifying, and makes people wary about all nursing homes.President Clinton has reacted to this news by recently announcing tough new legislative and administrative actions to improve the quality of nursing homes and give penalties to homes that do not follow the rules.
