With first place in the Indiana Northern State Conference on the line on Friday night, Tippecanoe Valley and Jimtown delivered a game that lived up to the height. The Vikings dominated the first half, the Jimmies turned things around in the second, but in the end, it was one final stop by the Valley defense that clinched the 17-15 road victory.

Faced with the opportunity to take on a great Adams Central team at home on Friday night, the Tippecanoe Valley football team battled hard for a half, settling for a tie at the break. However, it was the Jets that showed why they are one of the top programs in the state in the second 24 minutes, rolling past the Vikings and handing them their first loss of the year 33-12.

Former conference rivals Tippecanoe Valley and Manchester met on the soccer pitch on Tuesday evening, with both teams playing well in the early season. In a game that was closer than the final scoreline indicated, it was the Squires that picked up goals in the opening and final minutes of the game to secure a 2-0 victory at home.
While it is one of the fiercest rivalries in northern Indiana, the Battle for the Bell between Tippecanoe Valley and Rochester hasn’t been all that close in recent years. Coming into Friday night’s meeting, the Vikings had retained the Bell for the previous eight years. They’ll hold onto it for at least another year, as Valley came out firing on all cylinders and never slowed down, crushing their rival 30-0 in what was an incredibly impressive performance.

Looking to start stacking wins to get some momentum going as the season picks up steam, the Tippecanoe Valley volleyball team traveled to Goshen on Monday evening for a nonconference game against the Lady RedHawks. All three sets were competitive, but it was Valley that found the extra gear in each of them, pulling off the 3-0 victory on the road.
The Tippecanoe Valley football team has been the most consistent in the area for quite some time now when it comes to regular season success. The Vikings have won six or more games in each season since 2019, going undefeated twice while also adding an eight-win campaign.
With Indiana Northern State Conference foes Tippecanoe Valley and John Glenn having already met twice this season, splitting the first two matchups, Tuesday night’s 3A softball regional game served as a perfect rubber match for the two teams. Both pitchers were outstanding, giving up a combined seven hits while striking out 19. Only one run was scored, and it belonged to the Lady Falcons, who advanced to the first semi-state in school history with a 1-0 victory.
For the second time in a week, track and field athletes from all over Northern Indiana converged with a spot in the state finals on the line. This time, it was the boys' turn with Warsaw hosting the festivities. With over 40 athletes from five local schools in attendance, there was no shortage of action. When the dust settled, seven of those competitors were able to punch their tickets to the state finals.
The girls track and field season continued its race towards the finish line on Tuesday evening, with 39 area athletes from all seven local schools competing at the IHSAA Regional 2 at Goshen. It was a largely successful night, with eight of those athletes punching their ticket to the state finals.
Friday night’s rivalry game between the Warsaw and Tippecanoe Valley softball teams was a tale of two contests. The Lady Vikings began the game on fire, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings. However, the Lady Tigers never gave up, scoring 14 straight runs to take a late lead. Seven innings wouldn’t be enough to decide this one, with Valley coming back from down four runs in the seventh and five in the eighth to win it 20-19.
Three out of the four teams still competing in Thursday’s semifinal round of the Warsaw girls tennis sectional were local representatives, as the host Lady Tigers took on Tippecanoe Valley, while Whitko faced off against Columbia City. The Lady Vikings were able to pull off the upset of the day, defeating Warsaw 4-1 to advance to the sectional championship on Friday. The Lady Eagles will be their opponent after taking down the Lady ‘Cats 4-1 as well.
Hosting Indiana Northern State Conference leaders Knox on Thursday night, the Tippecanoe Valley softball team looked to make up some ground in the conference standings. Thanks to a fantastic outing from starter Dalynne Bussard (10 strikeouts, three hits allowed) and some timely hitting from the offense, the Lady Vikings were able to do just that, picking up a 7-2 victory.

The first night of the Indiana boys basketball tournament pit two local teams against each other on Tuesday night, as Wawasee and Tippecanoe Valley met at Columbia City’s Birdcage. The Warriors led for a majority of the game, and while the Vikings were able to keep things from getting out of hand, it was Wawasee advancing with a 49-38 win.
The Warsaw boys basketball team has made its push toward the postseason by playing its best ball of the year at the right time. On Tuesday night, the team put together perhaps its most complete outing of the year, going wire-to-wire in a 67-40 victory that spoiled the senior night of rival Tippecanoe Valley.
Saturday night’s 3A sectional championship between Tippecanoe Valley and Fairfield was the epitome of a slugfest. Long, drawn out possessions, extremely physical play, and above all else, tight defense and low field goal percentages. The battle went down to the final possession, and after trailing for the entirety of the second half, a three pointer with six seconds left in the game earned the Lady Falcons a sectional championship with a 30-28 win.
With the advantage of both a bye and home court, the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team began its 3A sectional journey in the semifinals at Rita Price-Simpson Court on Friday night. The team’s first test was a tough one, the always-formidable Columbia City Lady Eagles. On this night though, the Lady Vikings beat their opponent at their own game, shutting the visitors down in a 54-41 win to advance to Saturday’s championship game.
Coming off just its second loss of the season, the Warsaw girls basketball team set its sights on Akron and rival Tippecanoe Valley. The Lady Vikings gave the Lady Tigers one heck of a battle, but eventually the visitors were able to wear the home team down in a 55-32 victory to get back into the win column.
