Editor, Times-Union: Obama’s support of Islam and the followers of that religion made me think of Yogi Bear. If you were brought up watching that cartoon character and thought all bears were like Yogi and his pal Boo Boo, you might think all they wanted to do was steal picnic baskets and weren’t dangerous. In reality, bears are dangerous; especially when they are hungry or have cubs they need to protect. Get between a bear and its food or cub and expect to be hurt or killed. I have a copy of the Koran. If you aren’t a Muslim, you can be lied to and are forbidden to convert Muslims to any other religion. If a Muslim becomes a Jew or a Christian, he can be killed if he doesn’t become a Muslim again. Maybe Obama hasn’t been killed by an Islamic extremist because he supports Islam more than he supports Christianity. Obama wants us to have an “all bears are like Yogi” attitude toward Islam. Forget that Islam is why we had the Crusades. Forget that Islam has tried to seize control of Western civilization for centuries. Millions of Black Americans are here because Muslims captured and sold their ancestors to those who brought them here. At least black Americans have had the opportunity to become Christians and experience true freedom as children of God instead of exist under the bondage of Islam. Not all bears are like Yogi. Thinking that acting nice or playing dead will allow you to live with grizzly bears can get you killed. One person tried to do that, and when the grizzly clamped its jaws on his head, he knew he had to fight back. A symbolic grizzly has clamped its jaw on Europe and parts of America and Obama’s response is more like a verbal rebuke instead of a real fight for life. Playing dead makes it easier for a grizzly to actually kill someone. Whatever you do, don’t bring a bear home from the wild thinking it is like Yogi. It may be peaceful most of the time. But if given the chance, it will kill you. Not all Muslims are peaceful like Yogi. A handful that we have allowed to come to America have killed others. If it is wise to watch out for bears to keep them from becoming dangerous, it is wise to keep an eye out for Muslims to make sure they don’t become dangerous. But many are being condemned for their wise actions. Believing something potentially dangerous is not dangerous is like trying to make a wild bear act like Yogi. The decision could kill you.
