Near a public park while a person under 18 was present, police say a Warsaw woman sold a narcotic to a confidential informant on May 25.
Billie Lynn Mireles, 40, of 533 E. Market St., Warsaw, was arrested Tuesday for dealing a narcotic. Her bond was set at $15,250. According to the probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, she was charged with: Count I, dealing in a narcotic drug enhancing circumstances, a level 4 felony; and count II, dealing in a schedule IV controlled substance enhancing circumstances, a level 6 felony.
On May 25, a Warsaw Police Department officer met with a confidential informant who advised he/she had arranged to purchase oxycodone from Mireles. The informant advised the purchase was to occur at Mireles’ residence, according to the affidavit.
After searching the informant and the informant’s vehicle for any drugs or contraband and finding none, officers attached a transmitter to the informant to monitor conversations. Officers provided the informant with $120 to purchase the oxycodone.
Officers followed the informant to Mireles’ residence, and could hear the informant and Mireles discussing the prescription pills. The informant then left the residence.
Officers then met with the informant, who provided an officer with the 10 round green pills. The informant also told officers that he/she gave Mireles $120 for the 10 pills, the affidavit states.
Officers identified the pills as oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic drug, which weighed approximately 1 gram.
Mireles’ residence at 533 E. Market St. is approximately 223.8 feet from Liz Fraser Field public park and approximately 500 feet from Richardson Dubois public park, the affidavit states. The WPD officer also confirmed that one elementary-aged child and two adults were playing in Richardson Dubois public park at the time of the drug purchase, according to the affidavit.
Then on June 3, the officer met with a confidential informant who advised he/she had arranged to purchase alprazolam from Mireles, again at 533 E. Market St. The informant was again wired with a transmitter to record all conversations. Officers also provided $40 to the informant for the purchase of the alprazolam.
After the informant left the residence, officers met with the informant who provided the 10 small blue oval pills. The informant gave Mireles $40 in exchange for the 10 pills.
The pills were identified by the officer as alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance.
