The past and current town board members are distinguished for being responsible for many recent noteworthy causes and events.

They were one of the few towns in Indiana to use eminent domain to remove an owner from their property located at Park Avenue and Administration Boulevard.

They were the only town in Indiana to end the opportunity for hundreds of Boy and Girl Scouts to become model citizens by giving the land under the Scout building to a neighbor.

They were the only town in the USA to authorize the issue of "no parking tickets" to owners of vehicles using the Lions Building, which eventually led to the removal of the only service organization in the town.

They used deceit in making statements to Indiana judges in multiple court cases, stating they maintained the grass area between the streets and canal for the past 75 or so years. Ask any of the many residents that lived in Winona Lake 35 years ago who planted the flowers and trees, raked the leaves and mowed the grass at that location. The town did maintain the liquid in the water during that time era. When is the last time that you saw any Winona Lake employee mowing the grass in that area?

They created "boat space" annual fees along the canal that forced adjacent property owners to purchase them in order to keep a parking area for their vehicles on streets that have parking on only one side.

They have deep pockets when they can spend money that they personally do not need to fund. The frivolous action of spending $80,000 for attorneys is nominal. They should have spent $100,000 or more just to fight inflation and keep attorneys employed!

I have even heard that they are trying to change the Indiana laws, and want to be a leader in issuing some kind of municipality tax to all of the Winona Lake citizens to increase their funds received!
