Editor, Times-Union:
The NFL has lost viewers and doesn't want players taking a knee to show the opposition for the deaths of black lives at the hands of police. I'm not saying we shouldn't be concerned about the deaths. Any wrongful death is a travesty. But which political party cares more about black lives? I contend that Republicans are more concerned and want blacks to do better while Democrats have had an evil past when it comes to defending black lives.
The Republican Party was founded to abolish slavery. After it happened, Southern Democrats stole the civil rights of blacks and made laws to deny blacks of their constitutional rights. It is disgraceful that Republicans didn't fight the Jim Crow laws and point out that separate but equal was separate but far from equal. President Eisenhower wanted to grant civil rights to blacks which they already had in the Constitution. But Democrats stood in his way. FDR could have desegregated the military. But he feared the loss of Democrat support in the South would have allowed a Republican to defeat him in 1944.
Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama support the extermination of black lives in the womb just like the patron demon Margaret Sanger supported it since she thought they were expendable. I oppose abortion, which I call prenatal extermination. Black lives matter, as do all lives in the womb that still have a potential bright future ahead of them. I find it ironic that I've seen black women defend the extermination of black lives and women of all races and say we shouldn't prevent the extermination. We fought the Nazis, who believed in exterminating millions. But those who want to continue the carnage are considered "good people." They probably rejoiced when Ireland voted to support the extermination of unborn lives there.
In Chicago, Trump has wanted to send in troops to protect black lives. But the Democrat mayor must not care as much for black lives as Trump does since he has refused to accept troops to disarm criminals who are not supposed to have guns in the first place. Yet people in Chicago, even blacks, will vote to re-elect Rahm Emanuel despite his apparent disregard for black lives.
I believe a person should be judged by their abilities and not racial biases like Democrats believe, it seems. We might have had our first black president elected decades ago if it weren't for Democrats. Neoplantationism has pressured blacks to remain in the Democrat party and not seek freedom as a Republican. Maybe black Republicans oppose being enslaved to Democrat policies and traditions that have hurt blacks for too long.
