Whitko’s Reed Wins High Jump At Hoosier State RelaysBLOOMINGTON – Whitko senior Kaity Reed was the high jump champion in the small school division at Saturday’s Hoosier State Relays on the Indiana University campus. Reed’s winning jump of 5-5 was an inch better than runner-up Addie Wanner of South Adams and third-place finisher Eris Harris. Wanner was awarded second on a tie-breaker. Reed also ran in the 60-meter dash, finishing 12th in the preliminaries. The top eight qualified for the finals. The Wildcats’ Gavin Howard placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 47-9.5. Garrett Elder was 12th, and Alex Wilson 14th in the long jump. Edler was also 13th in the 60 prelims. Manchester’s Rae Bedke finished 11th in the 3,200 run in 11:55.22. The Lady Squire distance medley relay team of Bedke, Jaelyn Webb, Katie Barker and Sydney Diefenbaugh was 12th in 13:51.04 Isaiah Davis was 11th in the high jump for the Squires, with a leap of 5-10. The Manchester boys 4x800 relay team of Drew Jones, Wilson Nettleton, Lance Bennett and Jake Schannep finished in 8:53.26, good for 21st place. In the large school division, Warsaw’s girls 4x800 relay team of Emma Bohnenkamper, Dayton Groninger, Angie Sanchez-Vijil and Anna Craig placed seventh with a time of 9:46.23. The distance medley relay team of Craig, Remi Beckham, Groninger and Mia Beckham had a time of 12:42.25 and finished ninth. The Lady Tigers’ Charlene Orr was 18th in the 3,200 with a time of 11:52.89. Whitko will host the Whitley County Meet on Wednesday. Manchester will host Central Noble and the Lady Tigers will host Homestead on Tuesday.
