Editor, Times-Union: I read the “Equality For All” letter to the editor with interest. It went on about Chick-Fil-A and hate.
Mr. Cathy was asked, by a Baptist magazine interviewer, his opinion on marriage. He stated his opinion – he believed in the Bible definition of marriage. OK – where is the hate in that? He stated his opinion and belief. He did not make a statement that Chick-Fil-A would not serve same-sex couples. Absolutely no statements were made on behalf of Chick-Fil-A on any of their practices. The time I ate there, they didn’t ask what my sexual preference was before I was allowed to order.
The only hate that I have heard in regards to this situation has been coming from all the city mayors who want to ban them from their cities and people like the writer who go on and on about Chick-Fil-A being hateful and vowing to boycott/bully Chick-Fil-A into the bully’s view point.
All I can say is the letter writer needs to go back to God for a refresher in what “love your neighbor” really means.
