NORTH WEBSTER – A North Webster Man was arrested Monday after police say he choked another man during an argument.
Michael Gawthrop, 26, of 30 EMS W31A Lane, North Webster, is charged with one count of strangulation and one count of domestic battery in the presence of a child.
Gawthrop’s estranged wife went with the alleged victim to his residence to pick up their son, according to court records.
Gawthrop began to yell at her. Gawthrop allegedly punched the man in the face, knocking him down. Gawthrop then put the man in a chokehold “until his face turned blue,” court records state.
Gawthrop is still being held in the Kosciusko County Jail as of this morning. His bond was set at $6,000.
