Interesting that the document that cries from our forefathers for freedom would ring so true today. They stood up to the largest army on the face of the earth. Somehow, they defeated them damn the snow, the frigid weather and the fact that most all the signers of the Declaration of Independence were of good means, they had dough. They signed that document knowing they were marked by the king and that they are giving up their autonomy, riches and way of life.
We, too, are challenged with a runaway government. They steal elections, tax us without even asking us, shut down our business, demand our conformance while we watch our very way of living ... drifts away. We are the sheep. We act like some aimless entity clutching to our comfort and way of life, not recognizing that all that is being striped from us.
Look at this horrid bid that our elected officials just voted for. Nobody asked me what I thought. That’s the way Speaker Nancy Pelosi likes it. There could have been relief for those destroyed by COVID-19 and unnecessary lockdowns, loss of business, personal assets and despair four months ago! She waited until the time ran out, either vote for this monstrous abomination of legislation or deny the folks some sort of patrimony for our wading through a pandemic which seems to be the perfect political storm for the left.
The government seems very comfortable with giving 10 million to Pakistan for gender studies, 40 million to the Kennedy Center, a couple of million to study lizards walk on a treadmill, not to mention the 461 million they gave to Columbia, a country of 5 million people that pretty much is the drug production and distribution capital of the world. I’m just spit balling this, but the math tells me that we gave them $8 million for every man, woman and child. Please tell me they are out of poverty!
I spin around, talking to myself wondering what our forefathers would do. Well, they already showed us. They stood up to a tyrannical government. They gave us the Constitution which has helped guide and govern this country for over 244 years, and now this faction of socialist want to tell us it isn’t any good.
I’m sorry, but I’ve spent too many years defending the Constitution, fighting for our protections, our way of life ... after all, “When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for it to dissolve the political bands which have connected them to each other.” Forces outside our country which buy riches, persuasion or both have stolen this great country, bough our politicians and have neutered us of our ability to express our grievances in a lawful manner.
