Wawasee Spring Sports Awards Presented MondaySYRACUSE – The Wawasee Athletic Department presented its spring sports awards Monday at the school.
In boys track, Cole VanLue was the Warrior Way winner. Luke Griner was most valuable athlete and Keyan Peete was the most improved. Mental attitude awards went to Michael Katzer and Sam Griner. Michael Hammer was rookie of the year, and Eric Yankosky was sprinter/hurdler of the year.
Autumn Yoder was the Warrior Way winner in girls track and Hannah-Marie Lamle was the most valuable athlete. Jada Parzygnot was the most improved and Liz Hardy was the mental attitude award winner. Hannah Lancaster was rookie of the year, Alexis Manges was field athlete of the year and Elizabeth Zorn was distance runner of the year.
Senior Rhett Coblentz was the Warrior Way winner on the baseball team. Gavin Barker and Rylan Kuhn were co-offensive players of the year, and Spencer Prescott was defensive player of the year. Blake Norris was pitcher of the year and Jacob Krugman was junior varsity player of the year.
Jared Krugman was the boys golf Warrior Way winner. Zach Leedy was the most valuable player and Luke Weisser the mental attitude award winner. Dillon Drake was the coaches award-second medalist winner, and Cameron Brill won the coaches award for leadership.
Camren Mangun was the Warrior Way award winner for unified track. Nate Haines was the most improved runner and was co-mental attitude award winner with Kyndall Fisher. Shawn Pinkerton was the most improved in the field events.
Hannah Haines was the Warrior Way winner for the regional champion softball team, and Meghan Fretz was the most valuable player. Ale Brito was most improved, and Riley Kunkle was the mental attitude award winner. Kayla White and Madie Wilson won Golden Glove awards and Beth Flannery was the junior varsity most valuable player.
Kabrea Rostochak was the Warrior Way award winner for girls tennis, and her doubles partner Kendra Doerr was most valuable player. Elizabeth Kleopfer was most improved and Taylor Mock was the mental attitude award winner. On the junior varsity team Molly Jones was the most valuable player, Ashley Rose was most improved and Kennedy Church the mental attitude award winner.
