Warsaw's NLC Draw With NorthWood Leads Roundup

Posted
Giving up its first goal of the season Thursday, the Warsaw girls soccer team ended its Northern Lakes Conference game in a 1-1 tie with NorthWood.
Playing at home, Warsaw found itself down early when NorthWood’s Val Ostrowski scored 29 minutes into competition.
In the second half, Warsaw responded with a goal from Kelly Williams, who scored off an assist from Brooklyn Jackson in the 58th minute.
The NLC game was Warsaw’s first without senior Meredith Hollar, who suffered another knee injury Tuesday at Plymouth.
After missing her entire junior season because of a torn ACL, Hollar had scored eight goals in Warsaw’s first four games before going down again.
She is currently visiting doctors to get a clearer picture on the extent of the injury.
Going on without the girl who’s just 11 goals short of the school’s all-time record, Warsaw matched NorthWood with four shots on goal, with goalkeeper Abby Schue posting three saves.
The Lady Tigers are back in NLC action Tuesday at home against Goshen.
