LARWILL – A Warsaw teen was killed and two others are hospitalized after an automobile accident in Whitley County Sunday morning, according to a crash report from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department. Jack Burchett, 17, Warsaw, was declared dead after police say a truck, driven by Chase Belcher, 25, Warsaw, ran a red light and struck a car driven by Jacob Burchett, 18, Warsaw. Jack Burchett and Phillip Caudill, 16, Warsaw, both were passengers in Jacob’s vehicle. Caudill was taken to Parkview Hospital with a collapsed lung and internal head bleeding, As of this morning, he was listed in critical condition. Jacob Burchett was taken to Parkview Regional Hospital with fractures to his legs and currently is in serious condition. Police say Belcher was driving his truck west on U.S. 30 near the intersection of Ind. 5 when he ran a red light and collided with Burchett’s car on its the passenger side. Belcher was taken to Parkview with cuts to his head and has since been released. The accident is still under investigation by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.
