Warsaw Man Held After Robbery AttemptA Warsaw man was arrested Monday night after police allege he entered an unlocked vehicle and tried to rob a woman with a screwdriver.
Daniel Vincent Davis, 34, of 1520 E. Winona Ave., is facing charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, according to a news release from the Warsaw Police Department. He also had an outstanding felony warrant from another county.
The victim was shopping at CVS on Detroit Street in Warsaw and left her car unlocked. She returned to her car when Davis allegedly grabbed her. She bit Davis on the hand to get away and ran into the store to call the police, the news release states.
Warsaw police located Davis about a block away, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The manager and employee told police they had seen Davis in the parking lot asking for rides and they had asked him to leave.
Davis was intoxicated, according to the release.
Police say Davis admitted he was trying to take the victim’s money and car.
Davis is being held in the Kosciusko?County Jail without bond.
